The Find My iPhone’s Activation Lock is meant to safeguard your iOS device including your iPhone or iPad. Once it’s locked, no one can use it without entering your Apple ID and passwords to reactivate it, turn off Find My Phone or erase its content.
Granted, if it’s your phone you likely know this information. But what if you forgot your passwords? Another possible scenario is you bought an iPad or iPhone on the internet and the previous user had Find My iPhone enabled.
There are ways to remove the activation lock. IT’s not easy, but it can be done. Here are some workarounds to try.
How to Bypass iCloud Activation Lock in iOS 11, 10, 9, 8 on iPhone and iPad
Apple states that’s understandable if you forget your password. It provides a possible solution if you forgot your Apple ID or password but remember which email you used.
Step 1: Go online to the Apple ID page.
Step 2: Go to Find Apple ID.
Step 3: When asked, type your first and last name associated with your Apple account.
Step 4: Enter your email address. If one doesn’t work but you think you may have used another one, keep trying until one works.
Step 5: Choose either to answer security questions or click on “recover by email.”
Step 6: Apple will send you your Apple ID in an email.
Another option is to visit the OfficialPhoneUnlock.co.uk website. The website promotes itself as a way to “easily remove the network lock on your iPhone so you can use it permanently on the network of your choice.”
Step 1: Go to the website.
Step 2: Look in the sidebar menu for iCloud Unlock.
Step 3: Enter your device’s model number and the IMEI number of the phone on which you want to use to unlock the iCloud account
Step 4: If you do not have that information, dial *#06# on your phone to find the IMEI number. If your phone doesn’t work or is locked, look on the sim tray on your iPhone.
Step 5: Make the payment required on the website and wait one to three days for the iCloud account to be unlocked.
Another website service to try is iPhoneIMEI.net.
Bypass the iCloud activation lock
This doesn’t always work, but it’s worth a try. Bypass your iCloud activation lock by following these steps.
Step 1: Reboot your phone by pressing and holding the power button and volume down button at the same time if you are using an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. Otherwise press the power button and home button at the same time.
Step 2: Start the setup process. When you see the Choose a Wi-Fi network screen, press the “I” you will see next to the Wi-Fi symbol to choose which network.
Step 3: Scroll to DNS and type the following depending on where you live.
- USA/North America:154.51.7
- In the rest of the world:109.17.60
Step 4: Tap on Back on your screen’s top left-hand corner.
Step 5: Tap on your Wi-Fi network.
Step 6: Now tap on the back button at the top right corner to return to the Wi-Fi page and stop the phone from going to a new screen and activating.
You will see iCloudDNSBypass.net. You can scroll and tap on the menu to access the apps and some of the phone’s features. If you found a phone and want to return it to the owner, choose which app you believe may give you the owner’s information.
Depending on your situation, one of these solutions should allow you to bypass the iCloud activation lock.
